For those who want the luxury and pampering offered by a high-class spa, you can find that in Sun Valley. In addition, for others who prefer a more back to nature way to unwind, check out the various healing hot water holes/springs in the Wood River Valley. The majority of the hot springs are located in remote and/or wilderness areas scattered throughout the Valley. more info

There are a number of Hot Springs in the area surrounding Sun Valley, Idaho. Many of these springs are thought to have healing powers. Whether due to the hot, mineral water or perhaps due to the ambiance found in the natural setting, individuals flock to the remote Hot Springs to revive and rejuvenate themselves.

There are hot springs above Halley--the Clarendon Hot Springs, 7 miles from town, a noted home camping ground, and the Guyer Hot Springs, at Ketchum, where an elaborate summer chalet and bathing resort is located.

Another popular Hot springs in the Sun Valley area is Frenchman's Bend located near Ketchum. The soaking pools are seasonal and may completely disappear during the higher water of spring. These springs are extremely hot, but the temperature can be cooled by diverting some of the water from the stream running by. This particular Hot Springs is found fairly close to a road.

The most expansive Hot Springs area is near Fairfield in the Smokey Mountains. There are varieties of hot pools to pick from – a soak on the mountainside or lower down on the slope or a number of spots in between. Check out the Worswick Hot Springs!

Many of the Hot Springs are in remote and/or wilderness areas and you will need to hike into them. Be sure to check with local resources to get accurate directions and information. It is also advisable to take along lots of drinking water and a towel. Remember that these natural hot pools are public areas and it is unlawful to soak in the natural. Always remember to respect the environment.
