Annual Sun Valley Fly-In
The Annual Sun Valley Fly-In is not an event for the timid. This race-contest combination is a sight to be seen as around 60 paragliders take off from Bald Mountain which is in the middle of the Sun Valley resort. The paragliders compete to see who can land the closest to a loaf of bread used as the bulls eye.
March 2006 marked the second Annual Sun Valley Fly-In competition. The event is promised to continue for many years to come as it is just as exciting for the paragliders as it is for the spectators. Competitors race up Bald Mountain to then prepare for their launch from the summit, overlooking the Sun Valley resort and the Sawtooth Mountains. The event is called a spot competition because the winner will land the closest to a giant loaf of bread which stands as a target at the base of the mountain. 60 paragliders convened in Sun Valley for the 2006 Fly-In and many more are sure to follow so don't miss out on the high flying action.
