Christmas in Sun Valley
Christmas in Sun Valley is the perfect combination of snow, sun and holiday festivities. Early winter snow covers the mountains, but there is also plenty of beautiful western sunshine. The Sun Valley community celebrates Christmas in the mountains with parties, caroling, tree lighting, ski races and other family events.
Sun Valley offers visitors a relaxed and ideal winter vacation. Over the Christmas holiday, many families gather in the Idaho mountains for skiing, fine dining and a unique holiday experience. Christmas in Sun Valley provides plenty of family activities and holiday festivities. Traditionally there is a winter concert with around 90 singers and an orchestra. There are also musical plays that honor the Christmas theme. The Sun Valley community gathers for a tree lighting, accompanied by Santa, carolers and hot chocolate. The free Winterstart Cross Country Ski Race offers 2k, 5k, and 10k and welcomes skiers of all abilities. Christmas Eve in Sun Valley is when the real holiday party kicks off with a torchlight parade, carolers, fireworks, Santa and ice skating.
