Ketchum Wagon Days
Ketchum Wagon Days is a great way to celebrate the old west and the mining heritage of the Sun Valley/ Ketchum area. Scheduled for September 1-4, 2006, Wagon days is packed with antique markets, car auctions, contests, food, music, children's carnival, and the Big Hitch Parade which is the most popular event of the long weekend.
The Big Hitch Parade is the main attraction at the Ketchum Wagon Days. Now the longest non motorized parade in the west, the parade boasts over a hundred museum quality wagons, buggies, carriages, tacks, carts and buckboards. An authentic 16- draft mule jerkline powers the parade though downtown Ketchum. The parade also has authentically costumed people, numerous kinds of horses and school and professional marching bands from around the state. Wagon Days also features an all you can eat pancake breakfast, fiddlers contest, antique shopping, bareback riding performance, shootouts, and a children's carnival with a climbing mountain, bungee run, astro jump, gyro, and train and wagon rides.
