Anderson Ranch Reservoir

The Anderson Ranch Reservoir is a 7.4 square mile recreation area that offers numerous activities for families. The reservoir is created by the Anderson Ranch Dam which forms the 14 mile long, one mile wide reservoir. Potential activities include fishing, boating, camping, hiking, biking, picnics, hunting and water sports.

The Anderson Ranch Reservoir is open year round and is a very popular fishing spot. Located south east of Boise, Idaho and 20 miles from Mountain Home, getting to the reservoir is easy. The dirt access roads have been improved in recent years. The area offers 6 miles of hiking and biking on the moderately difficult Creek Trail which gains 1,500 feet in elevation. The reservoir boasts 50 miles of shoreline and fishermen will be interested to know the depth reaches up to 315 feet. Fish species include kokanee, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and bull trout. The US Forest Service manages the reservoir and also offer numerous campsites. There are 30 units at Deer Creek, 25 units at Curlew Creek and Fall Creek offers 20 units. All sites have vaulted toilets, boat ramp and dock, and swimming. Fishing in the Anderson Ranch Reservoir is first class but here are also plenty of other activities.
