Magic Reservoir
Magic Reservoir, located in southern Idaho midway between Ketchum and Twin Falls, offers some of the best fishing, boating, and water sports in the area. Serving primarily as a large irrigation reservoir, the area is open year round.
Measuring in at 5 miles long, 15 miles wide, and maxing out at 120 feet deep, the Magic Reservoir offers plenty of area for recreating. Within Magic Reservoir there are 9 semi-developed sites and several places to launch a boat on both the East and West sides of the reservoir.
Fishing here is great for bank anglers and boat anglers alike, with large amounts of rainbow and brown trout as well as yellow perch. The rainbow trout is dependent upon a spring stocking, so its numbers do not pick up until the summer. While fishing is a major attraction to the area, there are many other ways to enjoy yourself here.
Boating is a popular activity, as is waterskiing and wakeboarding. Wildlife enthusiasts will be pleased with the many waterfowl and birds of prey in the area. For those looking to stay in the area a bit longer, there is abundant space for camping and RV's.
