With over 100 total miles of paved trails throughout the Valley, many of which are used by those traveling on non-motorized wheels, you can find many opportunities for adventure. For more of a challenge check out the three Skate Parks in the Valley.
The establishment of three Skate Parks in the Wood River Valley attests to the fact that travelers and locals alike enjoy in-line skating, roller blading or skateboarding. In Hailey, which is located just south of Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho a new 12,500 square foot skate park has been constructed. The park flows from the shallow end to the 13-foot deep end. There is also a 14-foot tall vertical wall that will send you up and over the pipe, a full radius concrete pipe 16 feet in diameter, and a 16-foot roll-in with handrails. The Hailey Skate Park is right on Highway 75, the main road through town. Keep an eye out for it on the south side of town.
The Ketchum Skate Park can be found at the corner of Warm Springs Road and Saddle Road about ½ mile west of Main Street right in town. This particular Park has areas of concrete and asphalt, semi-portable ramps, a vertical wall, rails and a small concrete bowl.
Sun Valley also has a Skate Park. It is located on Sun Valley Road, next to the pool.
So when traveling to the Sun Valley area, be sure to pack your skates and/or skateboard.
