If you are an extreme sport enthusiast and love to in-line skate, roller blade or skateboard, then the Wood River Valley is the place to be.

Overview

Skateboarding is relatively modern. Skateboarding can be a recreational activity, an art form, a job, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years.

Where to go Skateboarding

With over 100 total miles of paved trails throughout the Valley, many of which are used by those traveling on non-motorized wheels, you can find many opportunities for adventure.

For more of a challenge check out the three Skate Parks in the Valley. The establishment of three Skate Parks in the Wood River Valley attests to the fact that travelers and locals alike enjoy in-line skating, roller blading or skateboarding.

  • Hailey Skate Park
    This park was constructed in 2002, with 12,500 sq. ft. of features including a full radius concrete pipe 16 feet in diameter and a 16 foot roll-in with handrails. The Hailey Skate Park is right on Highway 75, the main road through town. Keep an eye out for it on the south side of town.
  • Guy Coles Skate Park
    Guy Coles Skate Park is located on Warm Springs and Saddle Road in Ketchum. Take a dip in the nearby river after skating. This particular Park has areas of concrete and asphalt, semi-portable ramps, a vertical wall, rails and a small concrete bowl.
  • Sun Valley Skate Park
    Sun Valley also has a Skate Park. It is located on Sun Valley Road, next to the pool.
