Tennis is played at all levels of society at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs.
Where to go to play tennis
The Wood River Valley is dotted with tennis courts, both public ones and private ones. However, the demand is so high for a place to hit the ball with a racket, that both the Sun Valley Lodge and the Elkhorn Resort have opened their previously private courts to visitors. In addition, there are several other private tennis clubs in the area that do the same thing.

The eight Village courts (six asphalt courts and two Kremercourts) located near the Village and the nine courts (all asphalt) at the Harker Center. The organized tennis season begins in mid-May and runs through mid-September, though the season may vary depending on weather conditions.
