Sun Valley Resort in central Idaho is one of the best vacation destinations for both summer and winter travel due in part to the fact that many of the activities are within a small radius. Every activity is within easy access to the local lodging accommodations via free public transit. If you bring your vehicle with you to Sun Valley, you can park it and ride the public transit system to every location within the community.

Parking your car is not a problem in Sun Valley, Idaho. Many of the lodging facilities have their own designated parking areas. In addition, downtown parking lots are prevalent in the major communities of Hailey, Bellevue, Ketchum and Sun Valley, Idaho. Originally designed as a tourist destination, parking was a factor in the original design of the resort area.

Parking is available at the base of Bald Mountain, on both the south and north side of the ski area – River Run or Warm Springs. In addition, there is adequate parking at the base of Dollar Mountain, which is actually within walking distance from the Sun Valley Lodge.

All recreational activities within the communities are easily accessible via the local public transit system so driving your vehicle is not necessary, unless you intend to visit areas outside the community – i.e. backcountry skiing, hiking, or biking.

When you see how easy it is to get around in the Wood River Valley, you may just park your car and not use it again, until you are ready to leave.
