No they don't all look like huskies and they all aren't huge, fluffy dogs, but the four footed sled pullers in the Sun Valley area would like to make friends with you. These canine pals will transport you over snow packed trails and into and through the backcountry area of Idaho.

Pioneers, mountain men and Native Americans all used dog sleds to haul gear and essentials during the long snowy winters. Sled dogs with their thick dense fur coats and their small size can travel easily over ice and snow. The animals are friendly and easily trained to pull a sled.

What was once a matter of necessity – dog sledding is fast becoming one of the most popular winter activities. A family friendly activity, check with the local "mushers" to schedule a dog sled tour.
