Kids Winter Fun
Sun Valley, Idaho has many activities for children during the winter months in addition to skiing. Other fun activities include ice skating, dog sled rides, horse drawn sleigh rides, and just playing in the mountains of soft snow. Indoor programs are also available through the local YFCA or other local organizations.

Not every child wants to spend his entire day on the ski slopes. After taking a ski lesson or taking a turn or two on the slopes with mom and dad, children may want to engage in other activities.
For a special family activity, try ice-skating on one of the two ice rinks in the area. You can also arrange a customized family dog sled tour or take a horse drawn sleigh to a yurt in the backcountry. Even in the winter, the entire family can enjoy swimming in any of the area's outdoor heated pools or natural hot springs.
When the weather is bad, the kids can practice rock climbing on an indoor rock wall, play a game of bowling, catch a movie, or try out their artistic talents at one of the local pottery and/or paint studios. In addition, there are many youth camp programs offered in the Valley.
The kids will never run out of things to do. The trick will be for the parents to keep up!
