Transportation
You can get to Sun Valley, Idaho through the gateway cities of Salt Lake City, Utah, Boise, Idaho, Seattle, Washington, and Los Angeles or Oakland, California. From these cities, you can take either Horizon Air or SkyWest to hop on into the area. If you would rather not fly, you can travel by bus.
Once there, you will discover that Sun Valley is a "walking village" where you do not need an automobile. Lodging is located within walking distance of other services, but you can also take the complimentary bus service. The Resort also runs a continuous round-trip service between Sun Valley Village and the ski mountains. If you want to check out the rest of the Wood River Valley, just hop onboard the Ketchum Area Rapid Transit system for a free ride throughout the Valley.
If you prefer the independence of driving yourself, you can obtain a rental car at any of the gateway cities or in the Wood River Valley.
