Sun Valley Ice Rink Skating & Hockey

Sun Valley is a great place, obviously, for down hill skiing, but the area offers so much more. Even with the high number of celebrities that make the Wood River Valley their second home, Sun Valley manages to maintain their family friendly atmosphere. One of the popular family attractions are the two ice skating rinks located in town.

The two ice skating rinks in Sun Valley, Idaho are a wonderful place to enjoy either as an individual, as a couple, or with a group of friends and/or family. Not only are the rinks a wonderful place to either learn or enjoy the sport of ice-skating, they are also the venue during the winter months for Olympic figure skating shows and semi-pro-hockey games.

For a nominal fee, you can rent your ice skates and then take to the ice. When the sun is shining and the skies are clear, there is nothing quite like gliding across a pool of frozen water. Be sure to dress warmly and be prepared for an occasional fall.

The Olympic figure skating shows, which are put on during the winter months usually on Saturdays, are also a wonderful attraction. Many world-renowned skaters participate in these elegant and professional programs.
