Overview

The Redfish Lake Lodge is situated on the north shore of the five-mile long glacial Redfish Lake in the middle of the Sawtooth Mountains. The resort sits on 16 acres of U.S. Forest Service permitted ground. This historic lodge is in a unique setting with excellent access to hiking trails, lakes, and mountain peaks.

Built in 1929, Redfish Lake Lodge has been the destination of many visitors who come to the Sawtooth Mountains and especially to enjoy what is known as the "jewel of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area". Through the years the Lodge has been updated and refurbished and continues to offer a combination of mountain comfort and excellent service.

Location

To get to Redfish Lake Lodge go north on Highway 75 for 60 miles. You’ll pass over Galena Summit and through Sawtooth City and Obsidian. The turn for Redfish Lake is just before the bridge at the junction of Redfish Lake Creek and the Salmon River. The turn is near mile marker 185. If you reach Stanley, you’ve gone about 5 miles too far north.

Nearby Attractions & Activities

There are a multitude of recreation opportunities both at the Lodge and in the nearby area. Activities include paddleboats, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing, rock-climbing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and more.

In addition to the nine rooms in the main Lodge, there are 21 cabins for rent, and 11 motel rooms. The Lodge also has a full service restaurant, a rustic western lounge with a full service bar, a marina, and a general store. Redfish Lake Lodge also provides groceries, snacks, ice, curios, souvenirs, clothing, camping and fishing gear and a Laundromat for their guests and for campers in the area. There is also a gas station, public showers and horse corrals.
